We have established our own in-house catering team. It is very important to the Academy that students receive quality, wholesome and nutritious food.
A free light breakfast consisting of cereals or toasted bagels, is served from 8.10am to 8.25am.
A varied fresh lunch is served between 12:20 and 13:50. We offer a pasta bar, hot main meal, vegetarian main meal, fresh sandwiches and baguettes, fresh fruit and home made desserts. For more information, see below menus and pricing.
The menus are on a three week rotation, starting at Week 1 at the start of every half term.
Lunch cards
On arrival at the Samworth Church Academy students are issued with a lunch card free of charge. Students are strongly encouraged to keep their card safe and with them every day. Lost or damaged cards could result in a charge for replacements. Any student who purposely damages or defaces their card will need to purchase a replacement at a cost of £2.00.
The cost of replacement lunch cards is as follows:
- 1st replacement card - Free of charge
- 2nd and additional replacement cards - £2.00
Lunch loans
Students can check the balance of their account throughout the school day in the Restaurant and the Main Hall.
Students with insufficient funds on their account will need to obtain a loan from the Student Information Desk to be paid back when the card is topped up. This does not affect students who are in receipt of free school meals.
To support families, the system allows us to provide loans when a student has no money on their lunch account. This is set to a limit of £7.00 (this is the equivalent of two lunch meal deals). This is intended to help students who may require additional funds at lunchtime if money has not been added to their account in time for lunch.
However, the system will not permit spending beyond the limit of £7.00. If a student's lunch account does not have sufficient funds available, our dining staff will unfortunately be unable to process any further purchases (at lunch and break).
Please be assured we are committed to supporting our families. If you do experience a change in your circumstances, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
We kindly ask that you check your child's account and clear any outstanding balances as soon as possible to avoid your child being refused a loan if the £7.00 limit has been met.
